Daphnis and Chloe’s Office Blend was created “accidentally” by their office manager one day, and since then, their team has enjoyed it all day long at their Athens office. It is an excellent all-rounder: with antioxidant-rich Mountain Tea, throat-soothing Thyme, and alertness-boosting Peppermint, it covers all the bases.

A few notes on each one of the herbs in this infusion:

Greek Mountain Tea is one of our favorites (learn all about it here). This gorgeous plant is the national herbal infusion of Greece, indispensable in every house. Its culinary use has ancient roots: it’s described in Greek Mythology as “the food of the Titans.”

Thyme (Thymus Capitatus), a variety that loves Greece’s rocky coastlines, grows into a woody purple shrub. It prospers in specific areas of the Mediterranean and is a hard find, even at well-informed spice shops. Daphnis and Chloe’s harvesters trim the blossoms one by one, following a laborious process that preserves the herb’s aroma for a longer period of time. The most advanced tool to ever touch these flowers is a pair of scissors. 

Peppermint has roots in Greek mythology, too: according to an ancient myth, Demeter, the goddess of the earth, created this herb by punishing the disobedient nymph Minthe and turning her into what would later be one of the Western world’s most popular flavors. This sweet and refreshing peppermint comes from an organic farm at the foothills of Mount Minthi, not far from the fields where the plant gained its name in antiquity.

The Office Blend comes in a colorful, lightweight, paper-based container that will look good on any shelf and makes a lovely gift. The pattern that decorates the packaging was designed by painter Nathalie du Pasquier for Daphnis and Chloe.
